Benchology, Inc. (“Benchology,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a Delaware corporation that provides independent benchmarking and evaluation of B2B data providers and technology products.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect personal information when you visit benchology.co, contact us, or engage our services.
1. Information We Collect
We may collect the following categories of information:
Business and contact information
When you contact us, schedule a meeting, or engage our services, we may collect your name, business email address, company name, job title, and information you choose to provide.
Benchmarking data
For evaluation projects, we may process business contact information, professional profiles, phone numbers, company attributes, provider outputs, and other data relevant to the agreed scope of work.
This information may come from clients, publicly accessible sources, or data providers we independently evaluate.
Payment information
When you purchase our services, we may collect billing information, transaction details, and payment status. Payments may be processed by Stripe, which handles payment card information through its payment services.
Website usage information
When you visit our website, our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, in order to deliver and secure the site. We also measure how our website is used with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which records the page visited, the referring page, browser, operating system, device type, country and page-load performance timings. We do not use advertising trackers on benchology.co.
2. How We Use Information
We use personal information to:
- Respond to inquiries and communicate with customers.
- Schedule meetings and manage business relationships.
- Deliver independent benchmarking and research services.
- Evaluate data quality, coverage, accuracy, and provider performance.
- Measure how our website is used, in aggregate, to improve it.
- Process payments and maintain business records.
- Maintain the security and reliability of our operations.
- Comply with applicable legal obligations.
Where required by applicable law, we rely on an appropriate legal basis for processing, such as performing a contract, pursuing legitimate business interests, complying with legal obligations, or obtaining consent.
3. Client Data and Confidentiality
Clients may provide datasets for use in specific benchmarking engagements.
We process this information for the agreed evaluation purposes and in accordance with applicable contractual requirements.
Client benchmark data is stored using Google Workspace.
We do not send identifiable client benchmark datasets to external data enrichment vendors, research providers, or verification services for their independent processing.
Google Workspace processes data on our behalf as a business technology service provider. Other service providers may process information necessary for activities such as hosting, scheduling, and payment processing.
We do not publicly disclose identifiable client information or private benchmark datasets without appropriate authorization.
Where applicable, a separate confidentiality agreement or data processing agreement may govern our handling of client information.
4. Anonymized Data and Research
Benchology may retain and reuse anonymized or aggregated information derived from client benchmarking projects for research, methodology improvement, historical comparisons, and future evaluations.
Our intention is to preserve useful performance findings without revealing individual identities or confidential client information.
Information retained for these purposes must be processed so that individuals cannot reasonably be identified from it, including through combination with other information reasonably available to us.
We do not intentionally reidentify anonymized individuals.
Reuse remains subject to applicable privacy laws, confidentiality obligations, and the permissions granted under the relevant client agreement.
We do not publicly identify clients or publish their confidential datasets without authorization.
5. Public Benchmark Data
Benchology publishes independent research and may make benchmarking datasets available for download.
Our downloadable public benchmark datasets do not contain personal information.
Public datasets are intended to support transparency, reproducibility, and independent review of our findings.
We take care to distinguish public research results from confidential client-specific information.
6. Service Providers and Disclosure
We use service providers to operate our business. These include:
- Cloudflare: Website hosting, delivery, security, and website analytics (Cloudflare Web Analytics).
- Google Workspace: Business communications, document management, and client data storage.
- Cal.com: Meeting scheduling.
- Stripe: Payment processing, where applicable.
These providers may process information necessary to deliver their respective services, subject to their contractual obligations and applicable law.
We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect our legal rights, or in connection with a business reorganization or transaction.
Benchology does not sell contact lists as a commercial product.
7. Cookies and Tracking
benchology.co does not use advertising cookies. We measure how the site is used with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which does not use cookies or local storage and does not track individual visitors across sites or over time. Cloudflare keeps detailed analytics data for about seven days and then aggregates it. Cloudflare, our hosting provider, may set strictly necessary security cookies, for example to distinguish people from automated traffic. The booking link on our pages opens Cal.com, whose own privacy policy applies to information you provide there. If this changes, we will update this policy before doing so.
8. Data Storage, Security, and Retention
We use Google Workspace to store and manage business information and client-provided benchmarking datasets.
We take reasonable measures designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or loss.
No system or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure.
We retain personal information only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy, subject to contractual obligations and applicable law.
Client-specific retention or deletion requirements may also be established in the relevant service agreement.
Anonymized research information may be retained for longer periods where its continued use is permitted and individuals are not reasonably identifiable.
Before publication: specify the retention periods or retention criteria for raw client data, business inquiries, and financial records.
9. International Data Transfers
Benchology operates in the United States.
Information may be processed in the United States or other countries where our authorized service providers operate.
Where applicable data protection laws require safeguards for international transfers, we will use appropriate contractual or other legally recognized mechanisms.

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have the right to:
- Request access to personal information we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate information.
- Request deletion of eligible personal information.
- Object to or restrict certain processing.

Where applicable, individuals may also lodge a complaint with the relevant data protection authority.
11. Children's Privacy
Our website and services are intended for professional and business audiences and are not directed to children under 18.
